Additional Info:
A new law in Kentucky requiring continuing education for engineers became effective June 26, 2007 and a regulation has been promulgated to implement the statute change.
The regulation (201 KAR 18:196) calls for engineers to verify compliance with the continuing education requirements on their license renewal form. The regulation requires 30 hours of continuing education in the two calendar years preceeding the June 30 renewal.
Therefore, for those licensees whose last names begin with L-Z, on their June 30, 2012 renewal they would verify compliance for calendar years 2010 and 2011. For A-K, they would need the 30 hours in calendar years 2009 and 2010 for their June 30, 2011 renewal.
The Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors does not pre-approve courses for PDH credit. It is your responsibility to assure that the activities in which you participate meet the requirements. All 30 hours may be done online.
